Top 3: Tracks to Get You Hype Before a Gig

Whether you’re a band or a band’s fan getting ready to go to concert there’s no better way to get in the live-gig mood than to play a hype track and prance about like a crazy person. Here’s our top 3 pre-gig tunes.

1. Party (Up In Here) – DMX

The man known for his uncannily real dog barks is also known for bringing the party. With whistles, horns and sporadic shouting of “up in here, up in here” the song peaked at number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2000 – the highest ever charting for DMX. Teams like The Lakers and the Nashville Predators have both used this song to amp themselves up before a big game. It will probably make you want to crowd surf and maybe smash something. Just sayin’

2. Reach – S Club 7

OK, it’s not exactly DMX but it’s super fun and super jumpy-uppy. Back in 2000 the S Clubbers told us to “reach for the stars” and that we did, grabbing 124,000 in the first week of its release. Back then, CBeebies Live had the right idea—every show finished with a blast of this song proving that it’s all you need to complete (or start) kick off the party atmosphere.

3. Even Flow – Pearl Jam

Starting life in a Seattle café back in 1991, Even Flow has become one of Pearl Jam’s most iconic songs—it’s been performed over 800 times. It’s a total rock out (cue air guitar and jumping off beds). If you’re the guitarist of the band, you should consider adding this hit to your pre-show ritual.
