Top 3 Social Media Profiles All Musicians Must Have
Let’s be honest: we live on social media (don’t lie, you know you do) and that means your fans do too. Today we’re rounding up the top three social media profiles you absolutely need to include in your marketing strategy.
Twitter
Having an online voice is so important and with bands now being instantly connected to fans, there is no better way to market yourself than to get you one of these. Network with influential people, create cool hashtags that encourage fan participation and tell people when and where your next gig is. It’s the new online fan base.
Instagram
One day there was an app called Instagram and the whole world went mad. The number of people using this addictive app sky-rocketed to more than 75 million daily in 2016 *Instagram. This is great news for musicians whose fans crave backstage access and an insight into the lives of their faves = you! Think of it as a blog but in photos; take a snap from the stage, in the recording studio or of something cool you’re eating. Use hashtags to push your photos even further. Tag local magazines and promoters or feature any fan photos that you’re tagged in. The possibilities are endless.
Snapchat
The new superstar on the block, Snapchat has become a social media sensation with everyone from Rob Kardashian to CNN owning a profile. As a musician it’s a perfect way to give fans an extra special glimpse into your life; shoot 10 second videos of you doing everyday things: brushing your teeth or during an interview or do something funny—once the videos are gone, they’re gone forever.
