Touted as a “global listening party,” Drake streamed the long-awaited album on his Apple Music show OVO Sound on Beats 1 Thursday evening before releasing it onto iTunes. His rumored $19 million partnership with Apple Music means the record will exclusively reside on the music giant for one full week before sharing it elsewhere.

Ahead of the stream, Drake spoke with Zane Lowe about its creation. “The album is based around the change of the season in our city,” Drake said. “It starts around in wintertime, with ‘Keep The Family Close.’ Winter to summer and back to winter again. It’s just to show you the two extreme moods that we have. We love our summers but we also make our winters work…You start to value your days a lot more when most people won’t go outside type of thing…It creates a different person. I thought it was important to make the album here during the winter.”

Current reports suggest Views could sell 2 million units in his first week. Drake revealed the track-list, production credits and collaborations prior to the debut. They include Rihanna, Future, the late Pimp C, Jamaican dancehall king Popcaan, and dvsn and PartyNextDoor, along with Wizkid who appears on “One Dance.” Kanye West produced “U With Me.” He also thanked executive producer Noah “40” Shebib with a touching post.
